#660 TEN YEARS UNKNOWN S.A.-MAN is translated from the Third Reich original Zehn Jahre Unbekannter S.A.-Mann. The author was himself an "Old Fighter", namely a party member since before the 1923 Putsch, a World War One combat veteran and a NSDAP stormtrooper. He was also "unknown" in the sense that he chose to write this book anonymously. Furthermore, he knew and even served under both Horst Wessel and Hans Eberhard Maikowski. #679 HITLER YOUTH QUEX is translated from the German original Der Hitlerjunge Quex by K. A. Schenzinger. The famous film of the same name was based on this novel first published in December 1932. "Quex" is the nickname of a fifteen year old boy who, in defiance of his father and the neighborhood communists, joins the Hitler Youth in Berlin and pays for this with his life. They always say the book is better than the film. This is also the case here. The book contains a lot of very interesting material that was left out of the film. Kurt Eggers: Warrior Prophet of the Third Reich
Kurt Eggers was the editor of the SS newspaper Das Schwarze Korps and an SS war correspondent. After he was killed on the Russian front in 1943, an SS regiment was named after him: the SS-Standarte Kurt Eggers. In short, Kurt Eggers was a true National Socialist warrior-poet, whose works provide a fascinating look into the soul of the ideal SS warrior. The main principle is that the folk was created by God and that each folk comrade has a divine duty to serve the folk. Conscientiousness draws strength from a feeling of responsibility and personal honor, which moves the individual to voluntarily do his duty. #652 German Art and Degenerate "Art": Work of Art and Caricature as Mirror of the Worldview is translated from the Third Reich original Deutsche Kunst und entartete "Kunst": Kunstwerk und Zerrbild als Spiegel der Weltanschauung, which was published by Dr. Adolf Dresler in Munich in 1938. The first part, roughly 27 pages of text, consists largely of Adolf Hitler’s speech at the opening of the House of German Art, and includes his fascinating analysis of "modern art". The second part, roughly 46 pages, juxtaposes "degenerate art" juxtaposes "degenerate art" and "German art" with the same subject but totally different perspectives. Perhaps one picture does indeed speak a thousand words. But here, two pictures speak far more than just two thousand. The degenerate art may seem pretty tame by today’s standards, sometimes even amusing. (Ironically, the eagle on page 32 looks quite similar to the one on a pre-Euro West German coin. Oakleaf Records, founded in 1971, was the first to make these rare and often suppressed recordings available to American collectors. Over the years others have attempted, without success, to imitate our pioneering efforts. Note: These Oakleaf CDs were all made from the original audio cassettes. Apparently, the studio sometimes treated each "side" - as opposed to each "song" - as a "track", resulting in only two tracks, even though all the songs are present.
